Shiso dressing

The essence of Shiso leaves, also known as Perilla is the feature of this sauce

Shiso or Perilla is one of my favorite herbs to use in Asian foods. It has a flavor that is reminiscent of basil, cinnamon and mint. The perilla available in Australia is a dark reddish purple and green. I like shredding the leaves or cutting them into little bits and sprinkling it on my Asian slaw (recipe is on this website).
